What I do

I get giddy when I talk about what I do, because writing excites me so much! Getting to know your brand and how I can use words to support your goals is one of my favourite parts of being a copywriter.

Here’s how the services I offer can help your business reach, engage and delight your audiences:

Copywriting

I am a self-confessed nerd when it comes to words. Nothing gives me a greater thrill than capturing a brand’s voice and bringing it to life on the page (or, rather, screen). Copy covers a wide spectrum: blog posts, website pages, email campaigns, social media posts, paid ads, meta descriptions, book blurbs, ebooks, guides, case studies, catalogue descriptions, author bios, TV listings, menus and press releases, to name quite a few!

And I love to do it all. Any type of writing you need, look no further. I’ve been copywriting since 2012, and I’ve written for all sorts of industries, from recruiters, finance companies and healthcare real estate agents to airports, furniture shops and skirting board manufacturers! I love the challenge of wearing a different writing hat for every brand I work with, and getting geeky about my clients’ industries is a standard part of the process.

Content Planning

I love a good content plan, too. I usually start with keyword research, throwing myself into the weeds of what people search for to find the information your brand provides. It’s also handy to have a look at any audience or persona information you have here, so I can get inside the minds of the people you’re selling to. I’ll also have a sneaky look at your competitors to see how the enemy does their thing, to make sure your brand does it better.

From there, I build detailed weekly, monthly or quarterly content plans encompassing as many channels as necessary. I can create plans for blogs, social plans, email campaigns and high-value content promotion, or I can tie all of those together in a theme planner that combines your entire content strategy in one comprehensive document.

Proofreading

That old cliché about being able to read before you can walk genuinely does apply to me. Ask my mum. Apparently, I was bum-shuffling along with a book in my hand for what was almost a concerning amount of time, until one day I just got up and started toddling as though I’d been doing it forever. The problem with that: I could reach the bookshelves!

Naturally, it was a habit I never grew out of, and so I love to read both for leisure and for work. If you’re working on a long (or short!) form piece of content and need a second pair of eyes on it, I’m here to help. I can cast an eagle eye over your text to sweep for spelling and readability, and check against your tone of voice documents to make sure you’re hitting all the right notes.
